FAQ NEW ITEM 14/11/20005 **Reports of missing ILS Data*** Some users of Navigation software have been
having trouble displaying the ILSs, please download the latest AFCAD file for
Heathrow from the AFCAD page What can I do to improve frame
rates? The frame rate issue
will always vary by an enormous amount from user to user. Some say it’s very
fast at over 25fps, some say it poor at under 7fps. Some say its faster then
the MS default Heathrow, some not. So I cant give you a frame rate for the
product as it so varied The biggest factor is usually AI
traffic and your graphics card. For example a user may have a modern Geforce 4
card, but if it’s the basic
440MX this is very slow and the older Geforce3 would be twice as fast.
A general rule is, the more expensive the card the faster it is. Your FS settings can
make a huge difference in frame rates, I can make my Heathrow work at 25fps
or 4fps depending on how you select the settings your FS, so be sensible. The product is a FREE
demo, so best advise is simply to try it! ADDITION: Version2 for
FS2004 is much faster now!! 1)
I use ‘Ultimate
Traffic’ and I see 747s and 777s in small parking spaces (FS2004) Please use the optional
‘Ultimate traffic’ compatible AFCAD2

FS2004 has an AFCAD optimized for most AI setups, ATC will also try to keep
the active gates free 2)
My textures are
blurry, what’s wrong? You must set the FS2004
‘Global Max Texture size’ to ‘Massive’. To do this start FS, click
Options-Setting-Display-HARDWARE Tab 3)
My ILS doesn’t work
correctly it behaves like a ‘back course’ (FS2004) You must not use a
FS2002 installation with FS2004. FS2002 uses a different ILS system you must
install the FS2004 version, if
you use FS2004 4)
I use London Airport,
will I have to remove the old Heathrow? NO, it doesn’t matter
if you have the old UK2000 Scenery Heathrow scenery, this new version will
overwrite it 5)
I don’t see the
advertised gadgets like ‘moving people’ ect Turn up your scenery
complexity setting! 6)
Why doesn’t the
runway flashing light flash?, or the AGNIS light flash? It is connected with
some types AI aircraft, if you
turn off AI it works fine. I
know that certain ‘ultimate traffic’ AI aircraft can do this. 7)
I don’t see
anything!, the ground is not there either! Some users who have the
RADEON 9500 graphics card or simalar have adjusted one of the Direct X
settings, this ‘tweak’ has some
strange side effects and one of them is that FS2004 no longer displays some
scenery objects . 8)
Why isn’t there any
approach lights for runway 23? There is some debate
over if runway 23 at Heathrow will ever be used again. Until I know one way
or the other, I have decided to remove the 23 lights 9)
Where do I find these
moving people? On the eastern pier of
Terminal 4, Pier 3 Terminal 1 south
side and pier 4A Terminal 1 North side

My
Heathrow Pro AI have started to go wrong, after installing the UK2000 AFD
patch for my UK2000 Part4 product The current AFD patch
file for UK2000 Scenery products will install the afcad file for the ‘old’
Heathrow as found in UK2000 Part4 and London Airport. If this happens to you,
then simple reinstall Heathrow pro again (no need to uninstall, reinstalling
over the top) This will correct the AFCAD file 11)
I use FS2002, when I tell
the UK2000 Setup program to NOT install the static aircraft and to install
the MAX AFCAD , it doesn’t fully work. Yes the static aircraft have gone, but
I still get the normal AFCAD file Unfortunately this
option only works in FS2004. If you using FS2002 you have to manually
download the maximum AFCAD file and install it using the AFCAD program 12)
What are these
taxiway signs doing here?, I thought Heathrow used ‘blocks’ The old taxiway block
system is due to be replaced by more conventional taxiway signs. This comes
in to effect from 17th March 2004. These signs are based apun the
new charts. 13)
Why doesn’t the
windsock turn with the wind? The truth is I don’t
know yet. It used to work with my other products. Im looking into this. 14)
Why doesn’t the ILS
appear in one of the MAP view? The FS2004 ILS is
stored in the new format ‘AFCAD2’ file. It may be the format of this file
will not allow it to be displayed in the way. But ILS is certainly there and
can be used 15)
I use ‘FS Navigator’
but the Heathrow ILSs don’t show up, why? Same reason as the
above. Maybe a future version of FSNAV will show up AFCAD2 ILSs In the meantime I
suggest compiling the FSNAV database using the default MS scenery ADDITION: FS Navigator
has had a major update. Most of the old problems no longer apply. 16) Why
don’t I use a ‘replacement’ runway texture that is used in other UK2000
Scenery products? FS2004 has created a
problem when using replacement runway polygons. The lighting system refuses
to display through the texture. So for now I thought it’s best to keep the
default Microsoft system, where by everything works as designed. If I get
enough requests for a more realistic runway I will make an optional file
availabl, but you will lose the edge lighting, we cant have it both ways in
FS2004 ADDITION: Version2 has
solved this problem and now has full lights + replacement texture 17)
The docking boards do not function!! Only two green lights at the bottom
are flashing. When you use them, you have
go into full screen 'W' key and zoom out 'minus' key The white inticator line
will only move when your aircraft
door is close to the stoping position, nothing will happen before that
point. 18) The ground image is breaking up in front as I taxi This happens when the user has an old FS2002 version of
UK2000 Part4 OR London Airports OR “Heathrow Original”. These old FS2002
versions should not be used in FS2004, but if you do then at least you have
to remove the Heathrow airport flatten line in the scenery.cfg file. It is
this flatten that is effecting the new Heathrow Pro 19)
I use FS Traffic and
FS2002, and my AI at Heathrow are not in the correct places? Programs like FS
Traffic and My Traffic use there own layout for Heathrow you have delete them
,or rename there file so the Heathrow Pro file is used for example FST users Flt
Sim\SCENEDB\FST22AFD\Scenery\egll1.bgl
rename to egll1.BAK Flt
Sim\SCENEDB\FST22AFD\Scenery\egll2.bgl
rename to egll2.BAK Website
